RECORDED IN AUTUMN, 1995 IN TIM'S BEDROOM.

RECORDED, MIXED, AND PRODUCED BY SETH PUTNAM

This record is dedicated to HOWARD WULKAN,

the former executive of EARACHE RECORDS.

Five of the ten songs are covers,

four are performed in karaoke style simply singing over

the original recordings with altered lyrics.

AxCx also adds lyrics to instrumental songs such as

"A Fifth Of Beethoven" and "Night On Disco Mountain".

"HOWARD IS BALD"

is sung over a disco instrumental version

of Beethoven's Fifth Symphony played in the background:

it's "A FIFTH OF BEETHOVEN", recorded by

WALTER MURPHY AND THE BIG APPLE BAND in 1976,

adapted from the first movement of

Ludwing Van Beethoven's Symphony N° 5.

"BALD TO THE BONE"

is a parody of "BAD TO THE BONE"

by GEORGE THOROGOOD AND THE DESTROYERS (1982),

performed in acoustic version.

"BALLAD OF BALDNESS"

doesn't seem to be a parody of anything in particular.

"NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN"

is a parody of "NIGHT ON DISCO MOUNTAIN",

an instrumental song performed by DAVID SHIRE in 1977.

The original title "NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN" is from the namesake

Classical record by Modest Mussorgsky (1867).

"NIGHT ON DISCO MOUNTAIN" is David Shire's disco-music version

of that Classical song.

"YOU SHOULD BE BALDING"

is a parody of "YOU SHOULD BE DANCING"

by The BEE GEES (1976).

"IF I CAN'T HAVE HAIR"

is a parody of "IF I CAN'T HAVE YOU"

written by the BEE GEES in 1976

and performed by YVONNE ELLIMAN in 1977

on the "Saturday Night Fever" soundtrack.

It is sung directly on top of the original record.

"HOWARD WULKAN (WESLEY WILLIS VERSION)"

is a parody/imitation of WESLEY WILLIS's

songwriting and performance style, not of a specific song.

It would most closely compare to "Rock'N'Roll McDonald's" (1995).

Wesley Willis was an American musician and visual artist (1963-2003).

Four original songs: "If I Can't Have you", "A Fifth Of Beethoven",

"Night On Disco Mountain" and "You Should be Dancing"

are from the "Saturday Night Fever" Soundtrack (1977).
